“Frankie” is in the Power House Museum – (Frankie is my response to Melbourne Street Art, it is layer upon layer of urban lines, colours and shapes with that beautiful face shining though)

TS reviewed my “Flight” Submission, it was so positive I had to “Wordle” it. Translated, it says…Hi Niki
The tales behind the images are great, totally comprehensible and
imaginatively expressed…
I like the fact that “grounded” can mean in control as in “well grounded
individual”…but here it’s all about “you’re grounded for a month,
kiddo, in fact for the rest of your urban life”. Ground, to grind etc…
Everything about that brief title yells confinement.
The second title is totally literal, a statement of fact and that sits
really well when juxtaposed with the poetic description beneath and not
one mention of mundane street lighting blocking out starlight because
its all about the deeper meaning, sustenance of which the spirit is
deprived.
The image of anywhere without a horizon is spooky, an expression of
something most people do not even realise they are suffering from.
There are whole generations of urban dwellers that can’t see the stars ….they are totally craving FLIGHT

Primal hunter and gather follows the stars – Industrial urban dweller walks a horizonless path. Unexpressed primal magic leaks out; it sneaks from under the carpet, it meanders down the alley way, up onto the walls and expresses its self with lines, colour and shape. It feeds the star deprived senses, it is totally craving flight.
There is a stale mate on this horizonless landscape; my feet are pounding a pavement of pessimism. My world is two dimensional, I’m a snapshot on someone’s face book, I need relief. Not the type that inebriation brings but the relief of effortless rhythmic flight.
Tapestry girl is convinced that pleasure can be defined as, “Mind, Body and Fingers”.
